[collapse collapsed = editor's note] Editor's Note
As I am writing this note the sweet spring of Shiraz is in full bloom as if sharing in my delight, since one of my wishes has been granted. I am writing this note for a journal which seemed a far-fetched dream. Iranian Children's literature is now quite a grown up tree full of branches and ripe fruits. Four years ago the Center for Children's Literature Studies was established at Shiraz University. Two projects were considered of outstanding importance by the members of the Center: one was writing an MA program of Children's Literature, getting it approved and accepting students for the program; the other was publishing an academic journal of children's literature studies. Both projects have been accomplished successfully. Obviously the many institutes and organizations involved in children's literature in Iran and magazines and journals linked to children's and young adult's literature have contributed immensely to the development of children's literature and this journal owes much to all of them and expects their support in the future. I would like to thank all those who have helped us in establishing this journal: members of Iranian Society for the Promotion of Persian Language and Literature, especially Dr. Mehdi Mohaqeq and his deputy, Dr. Seyed Ali Asghar Mirbagheri Fard - members of the commission for evaluating academic journals - Shiraz University Centre for Children's Literature Studies (SUCCLS) who included the project in their mission -editorial members and English & Persian editors -Executive director: Dr. F. Khoshbakht and her assistantMs.Sheida Arameshfard - the referees who read the papers - and special thanks go to Ms. Adinehpour.
